Beginning in 2000, Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital undertook a significant remodeling and expansion project. By June 2002, Pilchuck had completed phase one of the expansion to include a new 14-stall horse barn, new isolation stalls, new outpatient treatment areas, expanded surgery suites, new dairy and beef cattle facilities, new laser and radiology equipment, new reception and waiting areas, and improved parking. The building had been given an overall facelift with a new entry and exterior, and remodeling of existing treatment areas.

During Summer 2006, phase two of the expansion and remodeling project was begun. Existing structures were modified to house a MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) facility, new large animal department reception and receiving areas, and doctor offices for our growing professional staff. Construction continued during Winter 2006 and Spring 2007, as a new covered outdoor arena for equine lameness evaluations was added to augment the existing lameness diagnosis facilities. Our large animal clients will be happy to note that we have also added a new truck and trailer parking area and turnaround, and rearranged large animal department ingress & egress via a new driveway off 115th SE, about one block east of the original driveway.

A new two-story structure under construction, adjacent to the main hospital building, will be completed by Fall 2007 and will house a new equine surgical suite, alternative medicine center, small animal physical therapy area, with administrative offices and a conference center on the second floor. Once that building is completed, our small animal department will remodel and utilize more of the original hospital building.
